Recognising the importance of education in nation building, the Lagos State House of Assembly has assured people of the state of the full implementation of about 48 billion naira budgeted for next year education without being compromised.
The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, stated this in Lagos during a rally to the assembly to mark 2019 International Day of Persons with Disability (IDPWD) organised by the Human Development Initiative (HDI) in partnership with ActionAid Nigeria with the support of the Norwegian Embassy for Development (Norad).
Represented by the chairman house committee on education, Hon. Yinka Ogundimu, the Speaker also pledged the support of the house to the cause of Persons With Disabilities (PWD).
Obasa stressed that the current administration in Lagos state led by Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, took education very seriously as shown in a significant increase in the size and share of the 2020 education budget.
