Nigeria records highest Coronavirus infections in a day, with 195 cases

Nigeria has recorded its highest Coronavirus infections in a single day, with 195 news cases on Tuesday.

Of this figures, Lagos ramps up 80 new infections and Kano, 38 new cases.

In the figures released by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Tuesday, Bauchi and Ogun recorded 15 new cases each, while Borno ramps up 11 fresh cases.

Also, Gombe recorded 10 new cases, Sokoto (9), Jigawa (5), Edo (5), Zamfara (2), FCT (1), Enugu (1), Rivers (1), Delta (1) and Nasarawa (1).

The nation also recorded four new deaths, bringing the overall deaths to 44.

“On the 28th of April 2020, 195 new confirmed cases and four deaths were recorded in Nigeria

“One new state (Nasarawa) has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

“Till date, 1,532 cases have been confirmed, 255 cases have been discharged and 44 deaths have been recorded in 33 states and the Federal Capital Territory

“The 195 new cases are reported from fifteen states- Lagos (80), Kano (38), Bauchi (15), Ogun (15), Borno (11), Gombe (10), Sokoto (9), Jigawa (5), Edo (5), Zamfara (2), FCT (1), Enugu (1), Rivers (1), Delta (1), Nasarawa (1)

“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities,” NCDC said.
